Often in comics, it’s the little details that make all the difference in the world. Here, we have common six panel grid, cutting back and forth between past and present. Little details such as the caption boxes, the rounding of the cornered panels, and the slightly more muted color scheme help make this juxtapostion work flawlessly.

I can practically feel the theme music swelling in this scene, giving me all the right kind of goosebumps. (Can you tell I love this book?!)
