The Standard

This is one of my favourite sequences in the whole series.  That “Impossible!”/”Nothing’s impossible” exchange is of course a callback to the first chapter, when the same exchange happened between Zachary Zarthos and Fabu-Lad.  And this callback is something I had in mind and wanted to do in this final chapter since way back when I first wrote the line in issue #1.  It’s a simple idea, but one which succinctly hones in on the magic of superheroes and their lasting appeal.  That they represent a world where heroism and goodness can triumph over seemingly insurmountable odds, where even the most horrifying evil can be vanquished, where nothing is impossible.
