Here we see the young punks who Gilbert humiliated back in Chapter 4 make a comeback, similarly ill-fated as their last attempt to inflict violence on The Standard.

Can we guess who’ll be returning on tomorrow’s page?

Fun fact about this scene: when I submitted my first draft and got notes back from editor Steven Forbes, he corrected the word “olid,” believing I’d meant to type “old school” and had maybe hit a typo.  I pointed out that no, this was no typo!  Rather, “olid” is an obscure old word for stinky, and is another gloriously groanworthy pun in a line of them.  This was probably the first – and possibly the last – time I knew something that Steve didn’t!
