The Standard

This is another page I think is great fun.  In fact, when I’m on the convention floor and selling THE STANDARD, I specifically open a copy of the first issue to this page to highlight the merits of the series.  I’ll be pitching the series,  I’ll say, “We get to look at The Standard’s heyday,” and I’ll flip to this page and say, “There’s robots, there’s mad scientists, there’s cheesy dialogue, all that good stuff.”  Really, this was me trying to densely pack as much of the goofy stuff about old comics that I loved into a single page of story.
