Honestly, this is one of the pages that I like the most. The Dawn’s reveal shows he is Alex in many ways and that desire to not be looked at speaks volumes. Alex wanted… something like it. He wanted the adoration, possibly because of the lack of it during his childhood. Now he’s nearing his end and he desperately doesn’t want Gilbert’s last image of him to be what he is now.
And yet his face still looks so angry.
