Looking back, I’m not overly fond of this scene. From a script perspective, it reads very much like a first-time comic writer trying to get across some exposition in a short space of time. And the result is a little bit clunky, and I don’t think I’d quite settled into Alex Thomas’ voice at this point. The work of the rest of the creative team remains top notch, though. I love the business Jon Rector portrays with the mohawked crook struggling to his feet while the other have their argument.
One funny note: the “selling crack to grannies” line was originally supposed to just be a placeholder while I figured out something more credible for this unfortunate bad guy to have done.
“Selling crack to grannies” is an absolutely hilarious line. Love that you didn’t replace it. : )
